Pune: ‘A time will come when our bow and arrow symbol will have to be returned to us’, states message on Shiv Sena (UBT) banner

PUNE: A legal battle is underway between both the groups of Shiv Sena and the battle has spilled out on the streets. Banners with a message ‘Our bow and arrow symbol will have to be given back’ have been pasted in Pune. The banners have been put by the Shiv Sena (UBT) on the route of the Ganesh immersion. The banners carry a message ‘We will win Maharashtra with the torch and a time will come when our bow and arrow symbol will have to be returned’ and they have been pasted in many areas.

The banner also carries a photograph of Anand Dighe. The banners have been put up by Dhananjay Deshmukh, Niranjan Dabhekar, Sumit Bandal, Paresh Khandke, Nitin Pardeshi, Dnyanand Kondhre and Paresh Lonkar, who are Shiv Sena (UBT) activists.

The banner has been put up at the Khandujibaba Chowk and the Ganesh immersion procession is going to pass through this chowk. People from all over the state visit Pune during the Ganesh festival. The banner aims to convey a message that the ‘real’ Shiv Sena is of Thackeray family and Ganpati will bless it, the activists of Shiv Sena (UBT) said.

Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena (Shinde) uses photographs of Bal Thackeray and Anand Dighe on its banners. Now, the Shiv Sena (UBT) has also started using the photos of Anand Dighe on its banners. The activists of Shiv Sena (UBT group) said that Anand Dighe’s photo had been used since he was a true Shiv Sainik.
