Pune: A pair of peacocks was spotted by visitors in the public garden on Durgadevi Tekdi in Nigdi. Employees of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Garden Department captured the majestic birds in their mobile phone cameras while they were dancing with their plumage spread around.
The PCMC has developed around 200 public gardens at various places in the twin towns. Citizens visit them for a walk and spend time, along with their friends and families, in the morning and evening daily. Numerous indigenous and exotic species of trees have grown in the hillock garden. Various birds have built their nests there.
Peacocks and peahens have often been spotted in the thick green garden for the past several years. A pair of peacocks was spotted a couple of days ago in the garden. The birds were filmed by the garden department staffers when they spread their plumages and started dancing. It was a majestic sight, revealed Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Garden Department) Ravikiran Ghodke.
