Move Aimed at Facilitating Voter Turnout and Ensuring Smooth Electoral Process

In a bid to facilitate maximum participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Maharashtra government has announced public holidays across all Lok Sabha constituencies on the respective polling days.

According to the district election office, Baramati is scheduled to go to polls on May 7, while Maval, Pune, and Shirur constituencies will conduct voting on May 13.

The state government’s notification ensures that not only voters within the constituencies but also those who might be away for work reasons benefit from the public holiday.

Additionally, the directive mandates the closure of state and central government offices, semi-government offices, public enterprises, and other institutions on the polling days.

Collector and District Election Officer Suhas Diwase emphasized the importance of maximizing voter turnout through extensive public awareness campaigns ahead of the elections.
