Aditya Kamble Gang Faces Stringent MCOCA Charges in Pune, Marking 34th Case Targeted by Police Commissioner

The Aditya Kamble gang, known for spreading terror in the Bharti Vidyapeeth area of Pune, is now facing the severe Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) charges. Following a recent gang robbery incident in Ambegaon Khurd, Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has taken decisive action against the gang, making it the 34th case prosecuted under MCOCA.

The gang members who are now facing charges include Aditya/Sonya Khandu Kamble (20) from Hanumannagar in Ambegaon Khurd, Sohail Modin Asangi alias Laden (22) from Bholewasti in Indrayaninagar, Amol Tanaji Dhaware (19) from Jambhulwadi in Katraj, and Ajay Vijay Panchal (21) from Naveen Vasahat, Katraj.

The incident that led to the charges involved Aditya/Sonya verbally abusing the manager of a country liquor store. He claimed to have just been released from jail and demanded hafta payments. When the manager refused, the gang members forcefully took Rs 10,000 from the counter and wreaked havoc in the store by throwing stones. The gang has been involved in various serious crimes, including robbery, extortion, attempted murder, rioting, illegal weapon possession, public property damage, assault, and public intimidation.

Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar submitted a proposal for MCOCA charges against the gang to Additional Commissioner Praveen Patil, through DCP (Zone 2) Smartana Patil.

The Kamble gang has been responsible for organized terror through their involvement in numerous criminal activities. In response, Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr has taken decisive action against the gang, making it the 34th case prosecuted under MCOCA in the city. This has instilled fear among criminal gangs, as MCOCA makes it difficult for gang members to obtain bail for a minimum of six months.

The police team involved in the MCOCA action includes ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar, Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar, Assistant Police Inspectors Vaibhav Gaikwad and Sachin Dhamane, ASI Chandrakant Mane, and policemen Narendra Mahangere and Vishal Warule.

The stringent action taken against the Aditya Kamble gang sends a strong message to other criminal elements in Pune. The Police Commissioner’s efforts to combat organized crime and maintain law and order are commendable. The MCOCA charges will serve as a deterrent and contribute to a safer environment for the residents of Pune.
