Man Abducted from Pune-Ahmednagar Highway, Police Launch Investigation
In a disturbing incident on the Pune-Ahmednagar Highway, ten unidentified individuals are under investigation for allegedly abducting a pickup van driver in the early hours of Monday. The case was brought to the attention of the Pune City Police after an eyewitness, an associate of the victim, reported the crime.
The victim, hailing from a village in Jalna district, was reportedly abducted near Jagtap Dairy at approximately 1:40 am on Monday. The assailants stopped his pickup van, claiming there was a fuel leak from the vehicle’s tank. As the driver stopped, more individuals arrived in a car, ultimately abducting the driver and speeding away towards Ahmednagar. The eyewitness, who was present in the van during the incident, promptly rushed to the Loni Kand police station to file a complaint.
Pune City Police have initiated a case and are actively searching for the victim. The victim’s family has been contacted, and the investigative team is pursuing possible leads. In line with their efforts, several police officials have been dispatched to various locations to conduct inquiries. According to the police, the van driver was en route from Ahmednagar to Katraj to pick up goods intended for delivery to Nashik when the abduction occurred.
