Kalyani Nagar’s Water Woes: PMC Grapples With Complaints of Low-Pressure Supply

Water Supply

Residents of Kalyani Nagar in Pune find themselves in distress as a persistent low-pressure water supply issue continues to plague over 18 residential societies. Complaints have been pouring in for approximately 3-4 weeks, leaving residents frustrated and concerned about the impact on their daily lives.

Yasmin Charania, a resident, expressed her concerns, stating, “The water supply issue has been ongoing since December 2023, with low-pressure water affecting several residential societies in Kalyani Nagar. Despite assurances from the PMC about restoration, no improvement has been observed. This situation is untenable, and if it persists, residents may be forced to resort to expensive alternatives like purchasing water tankers.”

Rachna Agarwal echoed the sentiments, revealing, “It’s been 15 to 20 days of either no water supply or extremely low-pressure water in many Kalyani Nagar societies. The initial belief of a temporary PMC water cut has now turned into prolonged distress. We’ve registered complaints with the PMC, questioning the reasons behind this water shortage.”

Monica S, another resident, emphasized the pressing concern of prolonged water pressure issues affecting daily life. She stated, “The recent communication with the Water Works Department has instilled hope for a swift resolution. Water conservation is a shared responsibility, and construction companies must adhere to sustainable practices. We believe in the collective effort to address this issue and appreciate the PMC’s commitment to the well-being of Kalyani Nagar residents.”
