Burglary Breakthrough: Sinhagad Road Police Make Significant Arrests

The Sinhagad Road police have made significant strides in their fight against thefts and housebreaks within their jurisdiction by apprehending two individuals connected to a series of criminal activities.

Burglary Report Sparks Swift Action

The chain of events began with a complaint filed on October 18 at the Sinhagad Road police station. The complaint detailed a house burglary that occurred between 11:30 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., resulting in the theft of gold ornaments, mobile phones, and cash totaling Rs 1,07,800.

Promptly, the Sinhagad Road police initiated technical analysis and delved into CCTV footage from the vicinity. During their investigation, constables Sagar Shedge and Deva Chavan received a crucial tip-off related to suspects involved in mobile theft near Vision Cricket Academy, Daulatnagar, Anandnagar. The information suggested that the culprits would be present near the Navle Bridge service road on a blue scooter, intending to sell stolen mobile phones. The suspects were described as one individual wearing a white shirt and black jeans and the other in white pants and a black shirt. Acting swiftly on this lead, the police set up a trap at the Navle Bridge area and successfully apprehended the suspects around 6:30 p.m. on October 23.

Accused and Further Arrests

The arrested individuals were identified as Shivraj Ganesh Sakhare (19, resident of Shivaji Apartment, Ambegaon Pathar) and Shivam Dnyaneshwar Surwase (19, resident of Shubh Shree Angan, Ambegaon Pathar). Subsequent inquiries led to the discovery that they had accomplices, including two juveniles. Additional arrests were made around 9:00 p.m. on October 23.

Involvement in Housebreak Case

Upon further investigation, the suspects were found to be connected to the housebreak case, registered under sections 394, 341, 352, 506, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and sections 37(1)135 of the Maharashtra Police Act at the Sinhagad Road police station.

Stolen Goods Recovered

As a result of these arrests, stolen goods worth Rs 1,48,000 were recovered. The investigation is currently being overseen by Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Nikam.
