Former MNS Leader Explores Independent Path Amid Party’s Decision to Skip Pune LS Seat
Vasant More, the former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader, has embarked on discussions with Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) leader Prakash Ambedkar, signaling a potential shift in Pune’s political landscape ahead of the Lok Sabha (LS) elections.
Following More’s departure from the MNS and the party’s decision not to contest the Pune LS seat, More has begun considering an independent candidacy. However, with the possibility of the VBA disassociating from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), there arises the prospect of More receiving endorsement or support from the VBA for his independent candidacy.
In a recent meeting held at Ambedkar’s residence, discussions centered around a potential collaboration or endorsement, with Ambedkar hinting at a forthcoming announcement to the media on April 2. More has expressed his keenness to contest the LS elections from Pune and views his interaction with Ambedkar as the first step towards a potential association with the VBA. The final decision regarding More’s candidacy and any alliance with the VBA is expected to unfold in the coming days.
