Pune Police Detain Afghan National for Visa Violation in Kondhwa

In a recent development, Pune city police took into custody an Afghan national who had reportedly overstayed his visa following a tip-off received on October 27.

Visa Overstay Investigation

Under the leadership of PSI Vaibhav Sonawane, the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) conducted a raid at an apartment in Sareen Miracle Society, Kausarbaugh, Kondhwa. During the operation, Mohammad Farid Mangal was apprehended, and a closer examination of his passport unveiled a crucial detail – his student visa had expired, and he had been residing in Pune beyond the permissible duration for approximately one and a half years.

Legal Procedures Unfold

In compliance with the law, the accused was subsequently transferred to the Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) located at the Pune police commissioner’s office. The FRO is now overseeing a thorough investigation into the matter, ensuring all legal protocols are followed. Following this investigation, Mangal will be handed over to Kondhwa police for further proceedings.

The police are actively engaged in the ongoing investigation to ascertain the details surrounding the visa overstay case.
