The Pimpri Chinchwad Police has taken stern action against Liparu Infra Ltd for conducting unauthorized digging work on the road stretching from Mukai Chowk to Kiwale Gaon, without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Police. This move comes as a part of the police’s crackdown on illegal road excavations and serves as a reminder to all contractors to adhere to regulations and obtain necessary permissions before commencing such activities.
According to officials from the Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police, it is imperative to secure a NOC from the police for any excavation work conducted on roads within the jurisdiction of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. Contractors are required to submit applications to the Traffic Police office for permission before initiating any digging activities. Upon review, NOCs are issued with specific terms and conditions to ensure compliance with safety standards and traffic regulations.
However, despite being granted NOCs, instances of contractors failing to adhere to the prescribed terms and conditions have been observed. This disregard for regulations poses serious risks to road safety, especially considering the frequent visits of VVIPs and VIPs in the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate. Unauthorized digging activities not only disrupt traffic flow but also heighten the likelihood of accidents and pose a threat to public safety.
In response to such violations, the Dehu Road Traffic Police Division has initiated legal action against Farooq Khan of Liparu Infra Ltd under Sections 283 and 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This serves as a stark warning to all contractors that non-compliance with regulations will result in stringent penalties and legal repercussions.
The Pimpri Chinchwad Police has issued a clear directive to all contractors, emphasizing that unauthorized road digging will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Contractors are urged to obtain proper permissions and adhere to safety protocols to avoid facing legal consequences for their actions.
