Water Reservoir Update: Koyana Dam Reaches Above 50% Storage Capacity

Satara, July 26 (UNI) Koyana irrigation dam in Satara district, was filled over half its capacity on Wednesday afternoon following heavy rainfall in its catchment areas.

During the last ten days, the water level in the dam has increased by 46 TMC, which was IN excess to last year’s water storage.

According to the Satara irrigation department, the rainfall this year was more than last year. In Navja, Koyana and Mahableshwar, the rainfall recorded, was 1848 mm, 1331 mm and 630 mm respectively during the last ten days.
The rainfall recorded last year in Koyana Nagar was 2230 mm, in Navaja 2846 mm and in Mahabaleshwar 2982 mm.
