Streamlining Transit: Jaganpur-Afzalpur Interchange to Boost Connectivity in Delhi NCR

The proposed Jaganpur-Afzalpur interchange is set to revolutionize travel in the Delhi NCR region, promising significant reductions in distance and travel time between key destinations such as the new Noida International Airport, Noida, and Delhi. However, the project has encountered delays, primarily due to land acquisition issues and funding disputes.

Initially, the construction faced setbacks when objections were raised by local farmers regarding land acquisition. Subsequently, the construction company responsible for the project demanded additional funds for earthwork, further complicating matters. As a result, work on the interchange came to a standstill.

In response to the impasse, the responsibility for completing the interchange has been transferred to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), with plans to commence construction by December. Once operational, the interchange will offer a host of benefits for commuters and travelers from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana.

One of the most significant advantages of the interchange is the enhanced connectivity it will provide to the Noida International Airport. Residents of Western Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana will enjoy improved access to the airport, with travel time reduced by approximately 20 kilometers.

Moreover, the interchange will streamline travel for vehicles coming from Agra via the Yamuna Expressway and those from Haryana using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. By eliminating the need for detours, the interchange will optimize travel routes, saving time and enhancing overall efficiency.

Upon completion, the Jaganpur-Afzalpur interchange will facilitate smoother journeys for commuters traveling between various cities such as Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Mathura, and Vrindavan, and destinations in Haryana, Palwal, Kundli, Sonipat, Panipat, Faridabad, and Jaipur in Rajasthan via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
