One Delhi App Unveils Unified Travel Experience: Metro and Bus Tickets in One QR Code

In a significant leap towards enhancing commuter convenience, the Delhi Government’s One Delhi mobile app has now become a one-stop solution for both metro and bus travel. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has seamlessly integrated its ticketing services with the One Delhi app, ushering in a new era of simplified and efficient ticketing for metro commuters.

Ticketing Made Easy with QR Codes:

Commuters can bid farewell to the hassle of managing separate tickets for metro and bus travel. With the integration of DMRC’s ticketing services into the One Delhi app, tickets will now be in the form of QR codes. Using their mobile phones, commuters can effortlessly scan these QR codes at the entry and exit gates of metro stations, streamlining the entire ticketing process. This move not only ensures ease of access but also promotes multimodal integration, allowing users to seamlessly plan and execute their journeys involving both bus and metro travel.

Inauguration of the New Service:

The collaborative effort between DMRC and IIIT Delhi, which manages the One Delhi app for the Delhi Government, culminated in the joint inauguration of this groundbreaking service. Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, and Delhi’s Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra spearheaded the inauguration, attended by key officials including Pravesh Biyani, Head of the Center for Mobility at IIIT Delhi.

Anuj Dayal, Executive Director of DMRC, highlighted that the integration aims to simplify the travel experience for the approximately 1.5 lakh people already using the One Delhi app for bus travel QR code tickets.

Benefits for Commuters:

Apart from the sheer convenience of purchasing tickets through a single app, commuters will now have the added advantage of planning integrated trips seamlessly. By entering their starting and ending points in the app, users receive optimized suggestions for the best bus or metro route to reach their destination. This feature enhances efficiency, making daily commuting a more organized and hassle-free experience.

As Delhi embraces this transformative integration, the One Delhi app emerges as a game-changer in the realm of urban mobility, promising a future where a single app is all it takes for a seamless journey across the city.
