Light Rain Dances Over Delhi-NCR, More Showers in the Forecast

Delhi and its surrounding regions woke up to a light rain shower this morning, adding a refreshing touch to the atmosphere. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a generally cloudy sky throughout the day with the possibility of light rain or drizzle.

The maximum temperature for the day is recorded at 25 degrees Celsius, while the minimum stands at 13 degrees Celsius.

The IMD’s bulletin indicates, “Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of few places of Delhi (Alipur, Burari, Rohini, Badili, Model Town, Karawal Nagar, Azadpur, Pitampura, Mundaka, Pashchim Vihar), NCR (Loni Dehat, Bahadurgarh).”

Furthermore, it states, “Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of many places of Delhi, NCR (Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula) during the next 2 hours.”

The weather department had previously hinted at a warming trend for Delhi starting from Saturday, projecting temperatures to rise from 24.6 degrees Celsius to a warmer 30 degrees Celsius by March 1. Nights are also expected to become milder, transitioning from 8.7 degrees Celsius to 12.5 degrees Celsius.

On another note, an active Western Disturbance (WD) is anticipated to influence the Western Himalayas, bringing rain and snow to the region from February 29. The impact will extend to adjoining plains from March 1 to 3.
