Delhi Weather Update: Light Drizzle Offers Brief Respite, AC Demand Surges

Mercury Soars to 37°C Despite Showers, Dry Weather Forecasted; AC Sales on the Rise

New Delhi experienced a notable shift in its weather dynamics on Wednesday as light drizzles provided a temporary relief from the scorching heat. However, despite the rainfall, the maximum temperature climbed to 37 degrees Celsius, indicating a warm day for residents. Additionally, the city braces for the influence of a western disturbance over the next few days, promising a continuation of the dry weather pattern.

Key Highlights of Wednesday’s Weather:

  1. Drizzles Amidst Sunshine:
    • Despite abundant sunshine, areas across Delhi witnessed light showers around midday, offering a brief respite from the heat. Notably, Najafgarh recorded the highest temperature at 37.8 degrees Celsius.
  2. Temperature Forecast:
    • The Meteorological Department predicts that Thursday’s maximum temperature could again soar to 37 degrees Celsius, with no significant change anticipated post-drizzle. Wednesday marked the hottest day of the season, with Safdarjung recording a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius.
  3. Dip in Temperature Expected:
    • A western disturbance is set to impact North India over the next three days, leading to cooler temperatures. While higher regions may witness substantial rainfall, plains, including Delhi, may experience light rain, drizzles, and thunderstorms, resulting in a predicted temperature drop of up to two degrees by Friday.
  4. Moderate Air Quality:
    • Despite weather activities, Delhi’s air quality remained within the moderate range on Wednesday, with an average AQI of 177. This suggests that the rain did not significantly deteriorate air quality, maintaining a relatively clean atmosphere amidst the warmth.

As Delhiites navigate through fluctuating weather conditions, the demand for air conditioning units is on the rise, reflecting the need for respite from the rising temperatures. With dry weather forecasted and temperatures expected to remain high, residents are urged to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to beat the heat.
