: St. Patrick’s High School boys were on a roll and lined up for a possible triple crown in the 3rd Father Schoch Memorial Inter School Hockey Tournament 2023 at the Maj. Dhyanchand Hockey Stadium, Nehrunagar-Pimpri.
The tournament, conducted by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune, saw St. Patrick’s H.S make the Under-17, 14 and 12 and the Under-17 girls sections.
In the Under-17 section, St. Patrick’s H.S were helped by Sashank G (6th and 44th) to down Jyoti English School 2-0. In the other semifinal, Loyola H.S had Harsh Khurne (2nd and 28th) score a double to get the better of Col. Bhagat H.S 2-0.
The Under-14 section had St. Patrick’s down host’s Loyola H.S 3-0 with Shaurya Menge (29th, 59th) leading the way and Sandesh Kudale (2th) making up the tally. In the second semifinal of the section, PCMC School thrashed Col. Bhagat High School 5-0.
The Under-12 age group will have Loyola H.S ‘A’ play St. Patrick’s H.S who registered contrasting wins. St.Patricks downed St Joseph’s Boys, Khadki 2-1 via the ‘shoot-out’ after playing out a 0-0 draw, while Loyola ‘A’ aided by a strike from Ishan Shelar (55th) downed their ‘B’ team 1-0.
