Nirbhay Vidhyarthi campaign gains popularity in educational institutes of Pune

Pune, Jul 13 (UNI) The Nirbhayhya Vidhyarthi campaign, launched by city police commissioner Retesh Kumaar for safety of students, is gaining popularity among educational institutions in Pune, said senior police inspector Vishwajit Kaingade here on Thursday.

While addressing students of Lexicon schools in Wagholi area of city on the topic of “Police Kaka and Police Didi” always support schools under Nirbhay Vidyarthi Abhiyan, he said the objective of the campaign is to enlighten the students about their safety, Elaborating further, he said that if the girl students are harassed by road romeos while coming to school, college or going home, they should report about such incidents to the police at the earliest.

To avert such incidents from happening, a nodal officer and police sister and police uncle have been appointed in each school and college by the police station, he said. On behalf of Lonikand police station, a meeting of principals and teachers of all the schools, colleges within the limit of police station was held at Lexicon School, Wagholi.

Anju Lutha, Ms Petrolina, Amol Lokhande of Lexicon School, and principals and teachers of 72 schools and colleges were present on the occasion.
