Commotion in Maratha reservation meeting in front of Ajit Pawar

Kolhapur, Aug 15 (UNI) There was a commotion at a meeting called to discuss the Maratha reservation issue, as community workers engaged in heated exchanges with the police in front of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Tuesday.

After hoisting the National Flag here, Pawar directly arrived at the venue of the meeting convened by the Kolhapur district administration.

Maratha community leaders Yogesh Kedar and others, who attended the meeting, raised a direct question to Pawar as to whether the deliberations were being held only for Kolhapur or at the state level, Kedar banged the table repeatedly.

Police officers tried to keep calm. But Kedar and others told the lawkeepers that they wouldn’t leave the auditorium.

Following the disruption, the atmosphere turned tense and police reinforcements were rushed t as a precautionary measure.
