Pune Municipal Corporation to Reconstruct Sadhu Vaswani Bridge for Enhanced Traffic Management

Koregaon Park, Pune, June 16, 2023: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has recently announced its plans to demolish and reconstruct the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge, located in the Queen’s Garden area. The proposal, with an estimated cost of 83 crore rupees, is currently awaiting approval from the Standing Committee.

The primary objective behind this decision is to establish an integrated traffic plan from Koregaon Park to the Bund Garden Bridge, with the demolition of the Sadhu Vaswani Bridge being a crucial part of the overall plan.

In order to ensure the successful execution of the project, the expert consultant Cashek Engineering Pvt Ltd has been appointed. The demolition and construction process is expected to take approximately two years, excluding the rainy season. The proposal also highlights that the budget required for the bridge work will be made available in a phased manner.

The Pune Municipal Corporation aims to enhance the infrastructure and improve traffic management in the area through this reconstruction project. Currently, the tender from SMC Infra Private Limited is under consideration by the Standing Committee, and it is expected to receive approval.

Upon completion, the new Sadhu Vaswani Bridge will serve as a modern and efficient transportation link, benefiting both commuters and residents in the area. The reconstruction project reflects the Pune Municipal Corporation’s commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure and ensuring smooth traffic flow.
