IRCTC Introduces Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train Departures from Pune for Religious and Leisure Travel

Pune, June 16th, 2023: Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), a Mini Ratna PSU arm of Indian Railways, has launched the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train as part of its ongoing efforts to promote affordable experiential tourism across India. This initiative aligns with the Bharat Gaurav Policy of the Ministry of Railways and aims to offer economical and accessible tours to various destinations.

The Fortnightly Departures from Pune will cater to religious travel, covering prominent destinations such as Vaishnodevi, Haridwar, Mathura, Jagannath Puri, GangaSagar, Gaya, Benaras, Ayodhya, Ramayan & Rampad Circuits, Jain Circuits of Shikharji-Parasnath, Palitana, Dwarka-Somnath, Ujjain Mahakal-Omkareshwar, Nathdwara, Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, Grushneshwar, Shirdi, ParliVaijnath, Kolhapur Mahalaxmi, Murudeshwar, Renigunta, Madurai, Rameshwaram, Kanyakumari, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, and more. Additionally, leisure, fun, and historical destinations like Kevadia, Agra, Amritsar Wagah, Dalhousie, Kullu Shimla Manali, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Ooty, Kodaikanal, Goa, Munnar-Thekkady-Alleppey-Kumarakom, and Chamba-Khajjiar will be included in the 8 to 14-day circuits.

The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train features an LHB rake with various classes, including 2AC, 3AC, and Sleeper class, providing passengers with a well-curated and aesthetically pleasing travel experience. The train is equipped with an all-over Passenger Announcement system and ensures in-house security through trained personnel and CCTV cameras. With a total capacity of 750 passengers, the train guarantees comfort and safety throughout the journey.
