Central Railway RPF takes tough action against chain pulling and ticketless travelers.

Central Railway RPF takes firm action against unreasonable alarm chain pulling, illegal ticketing, unauthorized hawking, and carrying liquor and tobacco products. Strict measures have been taken, including penalties. Here are the details for May 2023:

  • 941 cases of unauthorized alarm chain pulling were registered under Section 141 of the Indian Railway Act. 711 individuals were arrested, and a penalty of Rs. 2,71,205/- was imposed.
  • 49 cases of illegal ticketing were registered under Section 143 of the Indian Railway Act, leading to the prosecution of 52 touts.
  • 2741 cases of unauthorized hawking were registered under Section 144(1) of the Indian Railway Act. 2729 unauthorized hawkers were arrested, and a penalty of Rs. 17,27,580/- was imposed.
  • 363 bottles of illegal liquor, valued at Rs. 1,19,680/-, were seized, and 4 individuals were arrested.
  • 14 packets of illegal tobacco products weighing 64 kgs, valued at Rs. 84,000/-, were seized.

Central Railway appeals to passengers:

  • Avoid unnecessary or frivolous alarm chain pulling that inconveniences others.
  • Refrain from purchasing tickets from unauthorized agents or touts.
  • Do not support unauthorized hawking.
  • Do not carry liquor or banned tobacco products while traveling on trains.
  • Travel with valid tickets and maintain dignity during your journey.
