MIT-ADTU Hosts Smart India Hackathon 2023 Grand Finale: Fostering Innovation in Hardware Solutions

The MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADTU) in Pune is gearing up to host the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon-2023 (SIH), focusing on Hardware Edition. Organized by the Innovation Cell of the Union Ministry of Education and AICTE, the national competition will unfold between December 19 and 23, 2023, at Sant Shri Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Vishwashanti Dome, featuring the participation of 27 teams from diverse regions of India.

The inauguration ceremony, scheduled to take place in the presence of distinguished guests, including Mrityunjay Singh, Senior Vice President at Infosys, Pune, and Sanjiv Kumar, Founder of ‘Edumatica,’ will witness the esteemed Vice-Chancellor and Executive President of MIT ADT University, Prof Dr Mangesh Karad.

Key Highlights of Smart India Hackathon 2023 Grand Finale:

  1. National Competition:
    • 27 teams from across the country competing in the Smart India Hackathon-2023 (SIH) – Hardware Edition.
    • The event will address problem statements related to Agriculture, FoodTec & Rural Development, MedTech/Biotech/HealthTech, Heritage & Culture, Fitness & Sports, and Smart Automation.
  2. Prime Minister’s Interaction:
    • The Prime Minister of India is anticipated to engage with student participants on the evening of December 19, 2023.
  3. Inauguration Details:
    • MIT ADTU selected as one of the nodal centers to facilitate the Smart India Hackathon Hardware edition.
    • The grand inauguration by the Ministry of Education is set for 9:00 AM on December 19, 2023.
  4. Partnerships and Support:
    • Smart India Hackathon 2023 is a joint effort by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, AICTE, and i4c.
    • Media partners include Doordarshan and Akashwani, with AWS and Hero as official partners, and Hack2Skill as the knowledge partner.
  5. Problem Statements and Prizes:
    • Problem statements cover diverse domains, and each has a winning amount of Rs 1 lakh.

This Smart India Hackathon edition aligns with the broader mission of encouraging students to devise innovative solutions to societal and national challenges, with a particular focus on hardware solutions. The event anticipates the participation of over 12,000 students and 2,500 mentors during the course of the competition.
