PUNE: A shocking incident of a minor killing a senior citizen and robbing her of gold ornaments to get bail for his live-in partner has come to light. The Pimpri police have apprehended the minor. The minor is completing 18 years tomorrow.
The deceased has been identified as Shalubai Roopa Salvi (85), a resident of Pimpri. Sunita Bhimrao Kamble (48), a resident of Pimple Gurav, has lodged a complaint with the Pimpri police.
Sr PI Ram Rajmane has given information about the incident. Salvi used to stay alone. The accused entered her house by breaking the shed made of cement on July 31. He killed Salvi and stole gold and silver ornaments, mobile, and a gas cylinder totally worth ₹1,04,500. The police took immediate action and collected information about criminals and minor goons. The police came to know that the accused, who has a criminal record, had disappeared.
The police got the information that the minor was moving around near the vegetable market in Pimpri. He started running away after he saw the police. He was chased and apprehended on Monday. He has admitted committing the crime.
