Pune: History-sheeter held for selling cannabis at Symbiosis hill

Pune: The Deccan Gymkhana Police have arrested a hardened criminal for peddling narcotics at the hill near Symbiosis College. Around 700-gm cannabis has been confiscated from the arrested accused. The action was taken at 5 pm on Wednesday.

Ganesh Devidas Kasbe (22), a resident of Dattawadi, has been booked and arrested under the NDPS Act.

The Deccan Gymkhana Police got a tip-off that Kasbe was selling ganja near Symbiosis College on SB road. They arrested him from the spot. Following his frisking, 702-gm cannabis worth Rs 13,650 was confiscated from him. He was selling the drug to students from the college and people visiting the hill. PSI Mahesh Bhosale is investigating further.

The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of Police (CP) Retesh Kumaarr, Jt CP Sandeep Karnik, DCP (Zone 1) Sandeep Singh Gill, ACP Vasant Kunwar Saha, Senior PI Vipin Hasabnis and PI Shankar Salunkhe.

The investigation team comprising PSIs Mahesh Bhosale, Sandip Jadhav, Dattatraya Sawant and police personnel Shinde, Gabhale, Pathrut, Mali, Alhat, Gaikwad and Kale took part in the action.
