Ajit Pawar Pledges Rs 200 Crores for Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Proposes Flyover Extension During Surprise Inspection

In a surprise inspection of the Katraj-Kondhwa road, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar expressed satisfaction with the ongoing works and pledged Rs 200 crores from state government funds for the project. Pawar’s impromptu visit also resulted in a proposal to extend the Katraj Chowk flyover by an additional 650-700 meters, aimed at improving traffic flow and connectivity in the area.

Unannounced Inspection Yields Commitment for Development

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, during his unannounced visit to the Katraj-Kondhwa road, conveyed contentment with the progress of the ongoing works. He assured that the matter of allocating Rs 200 crores for the project would be raised in the upcoming cabinet meeting, underlining the government’s commitment to infrastructural development.

Flyover Extension and Road Widening Recommendations

During the inspection, Pawar suggested extending the Katraj Chowk flyover and emphasized the need to widen the Public Works Department road from Khadi Machine Chowk onwards. His directive also included the immediate opening of the one-way road from Khadi Machine Chowk to Kanha Hatel. These recommendations are poised to enhance road capacity and alleviate traffic congestion in the vicinity.

Detailed Project Report Submitted to Central Government

In response to Deputy Chief Minister Pawar’s instructions, Pune Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vikram Kumar shared that a detailed project report has been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Central Government. This step aligns with the government’s commitment to transparent and efficient project management.

Collaborative Inspection Team and Public Acknowledgment

Accompanying Ajit Pawar during the inspection were MLA Chetan Tupe, Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne, Superintending Engineer of Public Works Department Bappa Bahir, Executive Engineer Amol Pawar, and Mahesh Patil of the National Highway Authority. Pawar’s efforts were acknowledged by the citizens of the area, further emphasizing the collaborative approach to road development.

Traffic Streamlining Initiatives Implemented

In line with Pawar’s directives, one side of the road has been opened to traffic, initiating measures to streamline the ongoing development and provide a more efficient commute for the public.
