Pune: Anti-Extortion Cell Nabs Five Suspects Within 12 Hours After Midnight Killing

Pune: The Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC Pune) One of the Pune crime branches has arrested five people within 12 hours after killing one individual due to earlier animosity. The accused individuals murdered the person at midnight on Thursday, May 16. After that, the team of the Pune crime branch searched the absconding accused and detained them within 12 hours of the crime.

The murdered individual has been identified as Shrinu Shankar Visalawat (22), a resident of Lakshminagar, Dahanukar Colony, Kothrud. In this case, a minor individual lodged a complaint against five accused at Alankar police station. Accordingly, Alankar Police registered a case against Praveen Dutta Kadam (22), Gaurav Shankar Mane, Ajay alias Sachin Appa Jadhav, Rohan Kalyan Adagale, all residents of Karvenagar, Vadar Vasti, near Ramesh Provision Store, and Atharva Laxman Shelke, a resident of Laxminagar, Dahanukar Colony, Kothrud, who were subsequently arrested.

Following the registration of the complaint, the Pune ACB immediately started an investigation into the case. While searching for the absconding accused, Rajendra Landge, police officer of anti-extortion squad 1, got information that the criminal accused would be coming to Dalvinagar, Ambegaon Budruk. Based on the information, the police laid a trap in the area and detained all the accused from Ambegaon Budruk.

In the police interrogation following the arrest, the accused individuals confessed their involvement in the crime and stated that they had murdered the individual due to anger over an earlier conflict between them. The police arrested the accused within 12 hours of the crime. After a medical examination, the accused have been handed over to the Alankar Police Station for further investigation.

This action was taken by the team of Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Kumar Shinde, Police Sub Inspector Yashwant Ombase, Police Constable Sayaji Chavan, Amol Awhad, Nitin Kamble, Rajendra Landge, Vijay Kamble, Mayur Bhokare, and Madhukar Tupsundar, under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police Crime Shailesh Balkawade, Deputy Commissioner of Police Crime Amol Zende, Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Sunil Tambe, and Senior Police Inspector Krantikumar Patil.
