Crime Branch arrests three MCOCA accused in Bengaluru; Officials parade them

PUNE: A team of unit 4 of Pune police Crime Branch has arrested three persons, who are accused in a MCOCA case and a vandalising case, and who were absconding for three months, from Karnataka. Meanwhile, Crime Branch officials paraded the accused in the area where they had vandalised the vehicles. Hence, the accused will think  1,000 times before vandalising vehicles or committing a crime.

The accused have been identified as Ajay Chandrakant Vitkar (22), a resident of Gokhale Nagar, Rishikesh Alias Bablya Sunil Devkule (19), a resident of Gokhale Nagar and Aniket Alias Danny Shankar Mangalvedhekar (22), a resident of Gokhale Nagar.

Senior police officers had issued instructions that a special drive should be conducted regarding the MCOCA accused and absconding criminals and they should be immediately arrested. Accordingly, unit 4 officials and policemen were searching for accused involved in MCOCA cases registered at the Chatuhshrungi police station. Policemen Saras Salvi and Pravin Bhalchim came to know that the accused Ajay Vitkar and Bably Devkule were in Bengaluru. The information was verified and a team left for Bengaluru.

The police team arrested Ajay Vitkar and Hrishikesh alias Bablya Devkule on July 10, 2023 in Bengaluru. When questioned about their accomplices, they revealed that Anil alias Danny Mangalvedhekar was hiding in MIDC at Ahmednagar. The second team apprehended him in Ahmednagar. After the three were arrested, they were paraded by the Crime Branch.

CP Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Satish Govekar guided Sr PI Ganesh Mane, API Vikas Jadhav, PSI Jaydeep Patil, PSI Mahendra Pawar, policemen Pravin Bhalchim, Saras Salvi, Ramesh Rathod, Sanjay Adhari, Nagesh Kuvar, Vinod Mahajan and Vitthal Vavhal in taking the action.
