PMC Announces Planned Water Cuts in Several Areas Due to Maintenance Work
Residents in various parts of Pune are advised to prepare for temporary water disruptions this Thursday, April 4, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes essential maintenance work at key water treatment facilities across the city. The planned maintenance activities, which include electric-related and civil works, will impact water supply in several localities, necessitating proactive measures from residents to mitigate inconvenience.
According to Aniruddha Pawaskar, head of the PMC water department, the areas affected by the planned water cuts include Baner, Balewadi, Kothrud, Katraj, and Vimannagar. These regions are expected to experience temporary disruptions in water supply as the necessary maintenance tasks are carried out at critical infrastructure nodes, including the Warje Water Treatment Plant, Chandani Chowk Water Tank, Pan Card Club Water Tank, and the Bhama Askhed Project.
The scheduled maintenance work underscores the PMC’s commitment to ensuring the optimal functioning of water supply infrastructure and safeguarding the city’s water resources. While temporary inconveniences are anticipated, residents are urged to cooperate with PMC authorities and adopt water conservation measures during the period of disruption.
Affected Areas: Residents residing in Pashan, Bavdhan, Sus Road, Sutarwadi, Warje Malwadi, Kakade City area, Mahatma Society, Baner, Balewadi, Karvengar, Warje, Katraj, Kondhwa, Khadi Machine Chowk, Lohegaon, Vimannagar, Vishrantwadi, Yerwada, Dhanori, Kharadi, Ramtekadi, Solapur Road, Koregaon Park, Phursungi, and some parts of Hadapsar are advised to make necessary arrangements in anticipation of the water supply disruption.
