Pune, March 9, 2024 – A devastating accident on March 4 in Hadapsar claimed the life of 26-year-old Pujan Vishwajeet Adhav, who fell off the Magarpatta bridge after a collision with an unidentified vehicle. The incident unfolded in the early hours as Pujan, a resident of Parvati, was navigating the bridge when the fatal collision occurred.
The impact of the collision was severe, leading Pujan and his motorcycle to plunge from the overpass. Pujan’s brother, Prathamesh Adhav (30), lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the Hadapsar police station on March 7, seeking justice for the untimely loss.
In response, the Hadapsar police have taken prompt action, registering a case against the yet-to-be-identified driver of the unknown vehicle under sections 279 for rash driving and 304 (a) for causing death by negligence of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act have also been applied.
Sub Inspector Kaviraj Patil commented on the ongoing investigation, stating, “We have initiated an investigation based on the victim’s family complaint. The accused driver is currently unidentified, and our efforts are ongoing to bring them to justice.”
