“Community Mourns Loss as Rescue Efforts Fail to Save Young Wasim Najjimuddin Khan

In a heartbreaking turn of events, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police recovered the lifeless body of three-year-old Wasim Najjimuddin Khan from a well in Chikhali on Tuesday. The tragic incident unfolded on Monday as Wasim, along with other children, was playing near his home. In a dreadful accident, Wasim reportedly slipped and fell into the nearby well, leading to frantic rescue efforts by authorities.

The swift response from police and fire brigade teams saw rescue operations initiated immediately after the accident was reported. Despite valiant efforts to save the young child, rescue attempts were unsuccessful, prompting a halt late on Monday. With renewed efforts on Tuesday morning, the fire brigade officials managed to retrieve Wasim’s body around 5:30 pm.

Dyaneshwar Katkar, senior police inspector at Chikhli Police Station, expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss, stating, “While playing, the toddler accidentally fell into a well, and with the help of the fire brigade and police, we retrieved his dead body on Tuesday evening.” The community mourns the loss of Wasim as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
