Annual Adjustment Sees Increase in Fees to Cover Operational and Maintenance Costs

Travelers using the Khed-Shivapur toll plaza on the Pune-Satara highway will face higher toll rates starting April 1, following the annual adjustment of toll fees. The Pune-Satara Toll Road Administration has confirmed the impending hike, which will impact various categories of vehicles.

Under the revised toll rates, cars, jeeps, and light vehicles will see a five-rupee increase, bringing their toll fee to 120 rupees. Similarly, commercial light vehicles will also experience a five-rupee hike, now totaling 190 rupees. Buses and trucks, previously paying 390 rupees, will now be charged 400 rupees. Heavy vehicles, which previously paid 415 rupees, will see a rise to 420 rupees. Oversized vehicles will also face an increase, with toll fees rising by 15 rupees to 630 rupees.

Amit Bhartiya, the administrator of the Pune-Satara toll road, stated, “Toll rates change annually, and this year, there has been a substantial increase in toll rates, effective from April.”

In addition to the vehicle toll rates, the monthly pass fees for local residents’ vehicles have been raised by ten rupees. Local residents will now need to pay 340 rupees for a monthly pass.

These adjustments are aimed at covering the operational and maintenance costs associated with the toll plaza while ensuring continued service for commuters along the Pune-Satara highway.
