In a heart-wrenching incident that has stirred emotions across social media platforms, a Zomato delivery man in Delhi found himself in a dire situation after his account was reportedly blocked by the food delivery giant just days before his sister’s wedding.

The distressing ordeal of the delivery partner came to light when an X user, Soham Bhattacharya, encountered him in GTB Nagar and shared his emotional story, which quickly went viral.

According to Soham’s post on March 28, the delivery partner was visibly distraught and in tears as he explained his plight. Allegedly, Zomato had blocked his account, plunging him into a financial crisis just before his sister’s wedding. Having diligently saved every penny for the impending nuptials, the sudden setback left him scrambling for funds and resorting to seeking help from passersby in GTB Nagar.

Soham’s post, accompanied by a poignant photo of the distressed delivery partner, resonated deeply with netizens, amassing nearly 3 million views. The viral nature of the post prompted widespread attention, drawing responses from both concerned individuals and Zomato itself.

Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, the official X account of Zomato Care assured that they would thoroughly investigate the matter and extend necessary assistance to the delivery partner.

In a display of solidarity and compassion, Soham shared a QR code in the comments section, urging his followers to contribute towards easing the delivery man’s financial burden. Moved by the story, numerous social media users expressed empathy and offered monetary aid to support the delivery partner during his time of need.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, Soham mentioned in his post that the delivery man had resorted to working for Rapido, a bike taxi service, following the blockade of his Zomato account.
