Savitribai Phule Pune university instructs to conduct special inspection campaign to curb e-cigarettes in college premises

Pune: Nowadays along with traditional cigarettes, e-cigarettes have become more famous among many youngsters. The Savitribai Phule Pune university in order to curb the usage of e-cigarettes among college students has given the instructions to conduct a special inspection campaign inside the college premises.

The central government has banned the production, sale and use of e-cigarettes. The Act has been made for the same in 2019. However, it has come to notice that e-cigarettes are available at online websites and local shops. Also e-cigarettes are sold in college premises and students are drawn into the trap of addiction. Keeping this in mind the Directorate of Higher Education had directed the universities and colleges to take effective measures to prevent the use of e-cigarettes.

Soon after the Directorate of Higher Education direction now Savitribai Phule Pune University Registrar Dr.Prafulla Pawar has issued a circular and instructed to take measures to ensure that e-cigarettes are not sold and used in the premises of colleges and educational institutions.
