Pune: Bopodi Resident Allegedly Cheated by Builder Cousin in Flat Ownership Deal

Pune: A person living in Bopodi was duped by his cousin by not giving him the ownership of a flat after taking money from him. In this regard, a complaint has been registered against four people, including the plaintiff’s cousin, who is a builder by profession, at Khadaki Police Station.

As per the information, the plaintiff, Gaurav Dileep Agarwal, and the prime accused, Santosh Ashok Agarwal, are cousins. The plaintiff complained that the accused, Santosh Agarwal, was constructing an apartment at Khadki under the Kasturi Epitome construction scheme. Accordingly, Santosh had earlier agreed to give a flat to the plaintiff on the 12th floor in D-building for the transactions of 1 crore and 40 lakh rupees.

Accordingly, the accused extracted Rs 1 crore from the plaintiff and agreed to receive the remaining 40 lakh rupees at the time of receiving the flat. Shockingly, he also gave the accused bogus receipts for money. However, after the construction of the building was completed, the accused cheated the plaintiff by mutually selling that flat to the plaintiff’s brother-in-law without the plaintiff’s permission. Shockingly, he did not return the plaintiff’s money either. This entire incident took place between September 2021 and October 2023 at Castle Royal Tower in Bopodi.

When the plaintiff learned about the alleged embezzlement, he immediately lodged a police complaint against the accused along with his wife Nidhi Santosh Agarwal, the plaintiff’s brother-in-law Alok Manohar Tayal, and his wife Puja Alok Tayal at Khadki Police Station. Acting swiftly on the complaint, the police initiated a primary investigation into the matter, booking all the accused under sections 420, 406, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Police Inspector Crime Mansingh Patil is delving further into this matter.
