Rejuvenating Oasis: PMC’s Commitment to Enhance Wanowrie’s Swimming Experience

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has finally commenced the long-awaited renovation and refurbishment work at the Late Bapusaheb Kedari Swimming Pool in Wanowrie, Pune. This initiative aims to address the deteriorating condition of the facility and enhance the swimming experience for residents.

The video footage captures the arrival of materials and workers at the pool premises, signaling the beginning of the renovation process. This development comes as a relief to citizens who have expressed concerns about the neglected state of the swimming pool.

Established by the PMC in 1995, the Bapusaheb Kedari Swimming Pool has served as a recreational hub for residents. However, over the years, maintenance issues have plagued the facility, impacting its usability and safety.

Swimmers utilizing the pool have reported various maintenance issues, including cracked tiles, malfunctioning filter systems, leaking rooms, and dilapidated infrastructure. The deteriorating condition of amenities such as the baby pool, bathrooms, and shower rooms has hindered the overall swimming experience.

Members of the Rashtriya Life Saving Society, who have been managing the pool on a contractual basis, have highlighted the urgent need for repairs. They emphasized the challenges they faced due to the extensive damage, including broken equipment and structural issues.

The renovation work initiated by the PMC is expected to address these concerns comprehensively. Measures such as intensive waterproofing, repair of damaged infrastructure, and replacement of faulty equipment are anticipated to restore the swimming pool to its former functionality.

As the renovation progresses, residents eagerly await the completion of the project and the restoration of the Bapusaheb Kedari Swimming Pool as a safe and enjoyable recreational facility for the community.
