Pune: The Vimantal police uncovered the illegal prostitution racket going on in the Viman Nagar area under the pretext of a massage spa centre. In the subsequent action, police rescued four young women between the ages of 25 and 30, and a case has been registered against the spa owner and manager.
This illegal operation of sex racket was going on at Shanti Spa Centre in the East Court Building in the Vimannagar area. A few days ago, police received a tip-off regarding the running of an illegal sex racket in the area under the guise of a spa centre. Acting on it, the police initially confirmed the legality of the claim by sending fake customers to the massage centre.
Police discovered that the owner, Satish Saknure, 32, and manager, Roshni Suresh Patil, were forcibly pushing young and helpless women from the state into this business and earning a profit out of it. Saknure, originally a resident of Latur, has been living in Pune for the past few years and carrying out these illegal operations along with Patil to support his family needs.
After initial confirmation, the female police sub-inspector of Vimantal police station, Samu Ramkishor Chaudhary, filed a complaint in this regard at Vimantal police station. Acting on it, the law enforcement team of Vimantal police conducted a raid at Shanti Spa Centre and rescued four young women who were forced into these activities.
The police took the owner of the spa centre and his manager into custody and initiated charges against them under IPC 370, 34, and the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Act. This action was taken at Shanti Spa in the East Court Building in the Vimannagar area around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday (10th).
Vimantal police are conducting further investigations regarding it.
