Ghorpadi: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued a road closure alert for Ghorpadi-BT Kavade Road, Thopte Chowk to Bharat Forge Company, from January 6 to 8. The closure is deemed necessary to facilitate the installation of iron girders for the ongoing construction of the railway flyover at Ghorpadi.

Closure Dates: The road will be closed from January 6 to 8, 2024.
Closure Period: The closure will be in effect between 8 am and 6 pm on the specified dates.
Purpose: The closure is to expedite the laying of iron girders for the Ghorpadi railway flyover.
According to Shriniwas Bonala, Chief Engineer (Projects) at PMC, the municipal administration is actively overseeing the railway flyover construction project in Ghorpadi. The upcoming installation of iron girders is a crucial phase, requiring the closure of the specified road section.
To minimize inconvenience for commuters, PMC urges motorists to use alternative routes during the road closure period. Bonala recommends considering the alternative route from BT Kavade Road Smart Point, Vanraj Corner to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk (BG Shirke Company Gate No. One), Vathare Mala Road. Importantly, this alternate route is designated for two-wheelers and light vehicles only.
