Pune: In a disturbing incident in Pangare village, Purandar taluka, a woman fell victim to a significant fraud amounting to fourteen and a half lakhs. The alleged scam revolves around the failure to transfer the purchased plot’s ownership, leading to a case filed against four individuals at the Wanawadi police station. The reported incident transpired between January 2015 and September 2017 at the Wanawadi office of Godhrawala Construction.
Complainant Munira Mohammad Tambuwala, a 54-year-old resident of NIBM Road, Kondhwa, approached the Wanawadi Police Station to file a complaint. The accused individuals facing charges under IPC sections 406, 420, and 34 are Abbas Akbar Bakrolwala, Sheikh Ali Azgar alias Sheikh Akbarbhai Bakrolwala (residing in Ganga Savera Society, Wanawadi), Murtuja Taher Lokhandwala (a resident of Brahma Angan Society, Kondhwa Khurd), and Rumana Nalwala.
The police report reveals that the accused, associated with Godhrawal Construction, operated from their Wanawadi office on Salunkhe Vihar Road. The suspects initiated a project named Prive Foret in Pangare village, offering a plotting scheme consisting of 48 plots with various amenities. Attracted by the advertisement, Tambuwala purchased a plot, paying a total sum of 14 lakh 50 thousand rupees through checks and cash at different intervals.
However, the accused failed to fulfil their commitment to transfer the plot’s ownership to Tambuwala’s name, leading her to file a complaint with the Wanawadi police station. The complaint prompted an investigation, resulting in the registration of a case on Monday. The ongoing investigation is under the supervision of Women Police Sub-Inspector Bharad.
