Pune: Tuition teacher cheated of ₹5 lakh

PUNE: An incident of a tuition cheater being cheated of ₹5 lakh under the guise of an online task has come to light. An FIR has been registered against cyber crooks at the Sinhagad Road police station. A woman has lodged a complaint at the Sinhagad Road police station. The complainant stays in Dhayari Phata area and gives tuitions. Cyber crooks had sent a message on the mobile number of the complainant.

They had lured her with a ‘work from home’ promise. Initially, they asked her to get likes and comments for text and videos on social media and gave her some money. Later, they trapped the woman and told her to deposit money in a bank account. The cyber crooks forced the woman to deposit ₹5 lakh over a period of time. The woman did not get any returns. After realising that she had been cheated, she lodged a complaint with the police.
