Pune Police Seize Drugs Worth Rs 3.39 Lakh and Arrest Two, Launch Manhunt for Suppliers

The Anti Narcotics Cell of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police has taken significant action against drug trafficking in Pune. During an operation on the Pune-Bangalore Highway, the police arrested two individuals and confiscated a stash of drugs, including Poppy Straw and Mephedrone, with an estimated street value of Rs 3.39 lakh. The operation also led to the identification of individuals involved in the supply chain, with legal action initiated against them.

Acting on credible information about drug possession in the vicinity of Bavdhan on the Pune-Bangalore Highway, law enforcement officers set up a trap that resulted in the apprehension of two suspects. The arrested individuals have been identified as Raviprakash Sukhram Bishnoi (37) and Sureshkumar Sairam Bishnoi (30), both residents of Rajasthan. Upon searching their belongings, the police discovered 61 grams of Mephedrone and 1.705 kilograms of Poppy Straw.

Further investigation revealed that the seized drugs had been procured from a person named Sonu Jalora in Rajasthan. The drugs were destined for delivery to an individual named Jaiprakash Bishnoi, who resides in Hinjewadi, Pune. Legal proceedings have been initiated against both the arrested suspects, and law enforcement is actively pursuing the apprehension of Sonu Jalora and Jaiprakash Bishnoi.

The Hinjewadi Police Station has registered a case under relevant sections of the law, and the investigation is ongoing. The successful operation reflects the dedication of Pune’s law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related criminal activities in the region, ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.
