Pune Police Reshuffles Leadership Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections

Pune : In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Pune Police have undertaken a strategic reshuffling of key personnel. The reallocation, driven by directives from the Election Commission and the Office of the Director General of Police, involves the transfer of two Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and 15 Senior Police Inspectors.

Vijay Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the traffic branch, now assumes the role of Deputy Commissioner of Zone Four. Simultaneously, Shashikant Borate, the former DCP of Zone Four, has been designated as the DCP of the Traffic Branch. These significant changes were formalized through orders issued by Police Commissioner Retesh Kumar.

The list of transferred Senior Police Inspectors, along with their new assignments, is as follows:

  1. Dattatray Vishwanath Bhapkar (From Sr. Police Inspector, Vishrantwadi Police Station to Police Inspector, Traffic Branch)
  2. Kanchan Mohan Jadhav (From Police Inspector (Crime), Yerawada Police Station to Sr. Police Inspector, Vishrantwadi Police Station)
  3. Vijay Raghunath Puranik (From Police Inspector (Crime), Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station to Police Inspector, Traffic Branch)
  4. Anita Ramchandra Hivarkar (From Police Inspector (Crime), Faraskhana Police Station to Police Inspector, Crime Branch Anti-Narcotics Squad-1)
  5. Sunil Gajanan Thopete (From Police Inspector, Crime Branch, Anti-Narcotics Squad I to Control Room)
  6. Sandeep Deshmane (From Police Inspector, Sahakarnagar Police Station to Sr. Police Inspector, Alankar Police Station)
  7. Kranti Kumar Patil (From Police Inspector, Crime Branch, Dacoity and Vehicle Theft Prevention Squad to Crime Branch Anti-Extortion Squad 1)
  8. Vinayak Daulatrao Gaikwad (From Sr. Police Inspector, Bharti Vidyapeeth Police Station to Crime Branch Dacoity and Vehicle Theft Prevention Squad 1)

  12. Rajesh Ramchandra Tatkare (From Sr. Police Inspector, Alankar Police Station to Police Inspector, Court Company)
  13. Mahesh Gundappa Bolkotgi (From Police Inspector, Crime Branch Unit 5 to Sr. Police Inspector, Mundwa Police Station)
  14. Vishnu Natha Tamhane (From Sr. Police Inspector, Mundhwa Police Station to Police Inspector, Crime Branch Unit 5)

Furthermore, the Police Inspectors (Crime) at Lashkar and Bundagarden Police Station will temporarily hold additional charge as Senior Police Inspector of the respective Police Station until further orders.
