Pune Police MCOCA Action

Pune: In a stunning turn of events in the Lalit Patil case, the Pune Police Commissioner delves deeper into the investigation, resulting in the dismissal of a female police sub-inspector and an assistant police officer. Both stand accused of aiding the notorious drug racketeer Lalit Patil in his planned escape from Sassoon Hospital, thereby tarnishing the image of the police force.

The officers in question, identified as Mohini Avinash Dongre and her colleague Ramesh Janardan Kale, have been removed from the police service. This latest development brings the total number of dismissals in the Lalit Patil escape case to four.

Lalit Patil, under treatment in ward no. 16 of Sassoon Hospital, had Sub-Inspector Mohini Dongre assigned as the supervising officer of the ward. Similarly, Assistant Police Officer Ramesh Kale was entrusted with the role of guard in-charge.

In a shocking revelation from the internal inquiry report, it has been discovered that both Kale and Dongre were absent from their duty posts at the time of Lalit Patil’s escape. Consequently, the decision to dismiss them from the police service was based on charges of irresponsible and disreputable misconduct.

This incident adds to the growing list of suspensions, with a total of 11 individuals facing disciplinary actions in connection with the Lalit Patil escape case.
