Pune, 30th June 2023: In a bid to cater to the increasing demand of commuters and improve public transportation, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has recently announced significant changes to its bus routes. The expansion aims to provide better connectivity and convenience to passengers, encouraging more people to opt for public transport in the city.
The following bus routes have been affected by the recent expansion:
- Route No. 35A: Shivajinagar / Shimla Office to Indira College (Tathwade)
- Via: Aundhgaon, Dange Chowk, Tathwadegaon, J. S. P. M College, D. Y. Patil College
- Number of Buses: 3
- Frequency: Every 50 minutes
- Route No. 167: Bhekrainagar Depot to Wagholi
- Via: Magarpatta, Mundhwa, and Kharadi Bypass
- Number of Buses: 16
- Frequency: Every 10 minutes
- Route No. 277: Bhosari to Kothrud Depot
- Via: Pimplegurav, Saichowk, and Sangvi
- Number of Buses: 4
- Frequency: Every 60 minutes
In addition to the route expansions, the bus service on route no. 35A has been extended from Shivajinagar/Simla Office to Indira College (Tathwade). Similarly, route no. 167, which previously ran from Wagholi to Hadapsar, has now been extended to Bhekrainagar Depot. Furthermore, route no. 277, which originally operated from Bhosari to Kothrud Depot, will now be diverted via Pimplegurav, Saichowk, and Sangvi. These changes are all set to take effect from July 1.
The PMPML administration is optimistic that these enhancements will not only improve connectivity but also provide greater convenience to the people of Pune. By increasing the frequency of buses and extending the routes, the PMPML aims to encourage more commuters to use public transport, thereby reducing traffic congestion and contributing to a greener and more sustainable environmen
