Pune Municipal Corporation Takes Swift Action Against Illegal Constructions and Encroachments

Deccan, 3rd August 2023: In a firm and decisive move, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a demolition operation, removing encroachments spanning around 3000 square feet near the prominent Hotel Ranjeet, Hippie@Heart, and 3 Musketeers establishments on Lane 10 off Bhandarkar Road, Pune. This action was taken in response to a series of complaints received regarding the encroachments and unauthorized constructions in the area.

PMC officials revealed that the encroachment at Hotel Ranjeet had encircled the parking lot with brick structures, leading to cars being parked on the road, causing inconvenience to pedestrians and traffic flow. Additionally, several businesses had occupied the side margin (3 Musketeers) and the front margin parking area (Hippie@Heart), further exacerbating the congestion in the vicinity. Moreover, the hotel’s rooftop was found to be utilized for commercial purposes with an unauthorized shed constructed, which was also dismantled during the operation. The PMC building development department had received multiple complaints concerning these violations of building regulations.

In response to the complaints, the department took immediate action and conducted the demolition operation under the supervision of Junior Engineer Sunil Kadam. The unauthorized structures were carefully dismantled to restore the rightful public space and ensure compliance with building regulations.
