Cross-Party Candidates Emphasize Urban Challenges at Wadeshwar Katta Breakfast Meet

Pune News: Candidates vying for the Pune Lok Sabha seat have converged on a common ground, prioritizing the resolution of pressing issues such as traffic congestion, waste management, environmental conservation, and the enhancement of basic infrastructure. At a breakfast meeting hosted by the nonpartisan group Wadeshwar Katta, politicians from diverse political backgrounds underscored the urgency of addressing these challenges for the city’s advancement.

Wadeshwar Katta, known for fostering relationships beyond political affiliations, provided a platform for candidates to engage in cordial discussions and enjoy camaraderie over delectable dishes and insightful political discourse.

Murlidhar Mohol, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), emphasized the imperative of tackling infrastructure deficiencies in cantonment areas and advocated for the establishment of an international airport in Pune. He highlighted past successes such as the Metro, Chandni Chowk flyover, and the municipal medical college as testament to the party’s commitment to development.

Ravindra Dhangekar, the Congress candidate, echoed sentiments of prioritizing citizen-centric solutions while expressing apprehension about threats to democratic values. He stressed the importance of upholding democratic principles alongside developmental endeavors.

Vasant More, contesting independently after serving as a corporator and city chief of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), lamented the stagnation in development over the past decade and called for renewed focus on addressing local concerns during the election campaign.

Organizers Ankush Kakade and Shrikant Shirole emphasized the significance of fostering a constructive political environment throughout the campaign period to prevent the escalation of personal animosities among candidates and their supporters.

In unison, the candidates reiterated their dedication to confronting pressing urban challenges and fostering development in Pune.
