PUNE: An incident of a girl from Pune being repeatedly raped under the guise of marriage has been reported. An FIR of rape has been registered against a youth hailing from Sangola. The incident took place from September 21, 2022 to August 2023 at hotels in Narhe, Pandharpur and Mahabaleshwar.
A 25-year-old girl staying at Chandni Chowk lodged a complaint at the Sinhagad Road police station on Tuesday. Accordingly, an FIR has been registered against Chaitanya Mahadev Jadhav (21), a resident of Sangola under sections 376, 376/2/N, 417 and 506 of the IPC.
According to the police, the complainant and the victim know each other. The accused promised to marry the victim. He forcefully established sexual relations with the girl at hotels in Narhe, Pandharpur and Mahabaleshwar. The victim voiced her opposition but the accused repeatedly raped her. The complaint states her half naked photos and videos were taken and the accused threatened to make them viral. Woman PSI Lad is carrying out further investigation.
