PUNE: A fire broke out at three factories in Dhayari area of Sinhagad Road on Saturday afternoon. The raw material and goods were burnt. Since the factory was closed, there was no loss of life.

There are many small factories in the Dhayari industrial area. They manufacture batteries used in vehicles and spare parts of vehicles. Local residents informed the Fire Brigade that a huge smoke was billowing out of the factory at 12.15 pm on Saturday. Eight fire engines and a tanker of the Pune Fire Brigade reached the spot. Since the intensity of the fire increased, a fire engine of PMRDA also reached the place.

Fire Brigade officers Ramesh Gangad, Prakash Gore, Gajanan Pathrudkar and Prabhakar Umratkar guided a team of jawans who managed to control the fire in an hour after spraying water. Since the factory had a holiday, no unfortunate event took place. The raw material and other goods were destroyed in the fire.
