Takmoge and Gunjal Claim Victory at Second State Track Cycling Championships

Pune witnessed thrilling moments of athletic prowess as Mangesh Takmoge and Shweta Gunjal secured the top spots in the Elite Men and Women’s 200m Sprint, marking their victory at the Second State Track Cycling Championships. The event took place at the Mhalunge Balewadi Sports Complex Cycling Velodrome, and it was organized by the Cycling Association of Maharashtra in collaboration with the Krida Prabhodini Cycling Alumni Association.

Champions in Multiple Categories:

The competition wasn’t limited to the elite category alone. Vedant Jadhav of Pune and Shiya Lalwani from Nashik excelled in the Men and Women Junior 200m Sprints. Siddhesh Ghorpade and Shravani Kasar claimed victory in the Sub Junior Boys and Girls 2000m Individual Pursuit. The Youth Boys and Girls 2000m Individual Pursuit categories saw Shirinivas Jadhav from Pune and Abha Soman of Raigad emerge as the champions.

  • Elite Men: 200m Sprint – Mangesh Takmoge (Pune 11.682) secured the top position, followed by Saahaieel Shetey (Pune 12.150). In the 4000m Individual Pursuit, Surya Thatu (Pune) took the first place with a timing of 5.10.600, followed by Varad Surve (Pune) at 5.33.125 and Virendrasinh Patil (Pune K.P.) at 5.34.989.
  • Elite Women: The Women’s 200m sprint was dominated by Shweta Gunjal (Pune 13.819), with Sandhya Kokate (Mumbai C. 14.755) securing the second position and Zaina Pirkhan (Palghar 14.353) at third. In the 3000m Individual Pursuit, Pooja Danole (Kolhapur 4.21.402) took the lead, followed by Sanskruti Khese (Pune 4.23.504) and Shiya Lalwani (Nashik 4.30.825).
  • Men Junior: The Men Junior 200m Sprint was won by Vedant Jadhav (Pune K.P. 12.143), followed by Saahaieel Shetey (Pune 11.975) and Vedant Tajane (Nashik 12.396). In the 3000m Individual Pursuit, Virendrasinh Patil (Pune K.P.) secured the first place with a timing of 3.59.953. Om Karande (A’Nagar 4.08.730) came second, and Soham Pawar (Pune 4.09.998) finished third.
  • Women Junior: Shiya Lalwani (Nashik 3.01.984) claimed the top spot in the Women Junior 2000m Individual Pursuit. Snehal Mali (Raigad 3.04.212) secured the second position, and Anjali Patil (Kolhapur 3.10.158) finished third.
  • Sub Junior Boys: Siddhesh Ghorpade (Pune K.P. 2.33.489) emerged as the champion in the Sub Junior Boys 2000m Individual Pursuit. Soham Pawar (Pune 2.38.307) secured the second place, and Harish Dombale (Pune K.P. 2.41.275) claimed the third position.
  • Sub Junior Girls: In the Sub Junior Girls 2000m Individual Pursuit, Shravani Kasar (PUNE K.P. 3.09.543) clinched victory, with Shravani Parit (Pune 3.12.350) taking the second spot and Prerna Kalake (Pune K.P. 3.14.157) finishing third.
  • Youth Boys: Shirinivas Jadhav (Pune K.P. 2.54.468) was the champion in the Youth Boys 2000m Individual Pursuit, followed by Sanskar Ghorpade (Pune 3.01.156) and Huzaifa Mulla (Kolhapur 3.09.950).
  • Youth Girls: The Youth Girls 2000m Individual Pursuit was won by Abha Soman (Raigad 3.11.504), with Nikita Shinde (Pune K.P. 3.15.162) securing the second place, and Gayatri Tambavekar (Pune 3.17.328) finishing third.
