Pune Drug Case: Ajit Pawar mum on action against officials of Sassoon Hospital in Lalit Patil case

PUNE: Deputy CM and Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar, while speaking to media persons on Friday, spoke about the Lalit Patil drugs case for the first time. However, he sidestepped questions about the action which may be taken against medical officers of the Sassoon Hospital and reiterated that the police are carrying out a probe. He said that Deputy CM and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis had made a detailed statement on the issue and that is the stance of the state government. He said the probe will reveal all the facts.

He was speaking to journalists after attending the canal committee meeting. When asked about the action being taken against Sassoon Hospital’s officials, he said that the police are carrying out a probe. The police have arrested the accused and the court has remanded him in police custody. Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis has issued orders about carrying out a thorough probe. Only a probe would reveal the facts. The accused himself has made a lot of allegations. Many things have come to light through various sources. The home ministry is seriously examining this issue.

Shiv Sena leader Sushma Andhare has levelled allegations against some ministers and Pawar said that opposition parties are accusing the ministers and some of them have threatened to file defamation cases. All these things are being probed and we would come to know what has happened.
