Pune District Takes Swift Action on Model Code of Conduct Violations Ahead of Lok Sabha Election

The Pune district administration has taken prompt action on 63 out of 65 complaints received regarding violations of the model code of conduct ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election. These complaints were registered with the District Control Room, indicating a proactive approach to maintaining electoral integrity.

According to officials, complaints lodged through various channels, including the C-VIGIL portal and toll-free numbers 18002330102 and 1950, are swiftly processed upon receipt. Specialized teams established across all 21 assembly constituencies in the district ensure immediate action and documentation of reported violations on the C-VIGIL portal.

The Election Commission of India’s innovative C-Vigil App serves as a vital tool for citizens to report code of conduct infractions directly to the authorities. This mobile application enables seamless communication between voters and election administration, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process. Notably, the confidentiality of complainants is rigorously maintained to encourage reporting without fear of reprisal.

Flying Squad teams are also mobilized to address complaints received via the toll-free number, amplifying the district administration’s efforts to uphold electoral standards. Citizens are encouraged to utilize the C-Vigil App or contact the control room to report any instances of code of conduct violations during the election period, underscoring the collective responsibility in safeguarding the democratic process.
